Museum in Vernon with fine art-oriented collections, specializing in animal art.
Housed in a former 16th-century and 18th-century mansion in the heart of the town centre, the Musée de Vernon’s collections focus on the fine arts, with themes such as Giverny artists (around two paintings by Claude Monet are featured, paintings by Blanche Hoschedé-Monet and American artists who lived in Giverny) and the Nabis (Bonnard, Vuillard, Denis, Vallotton). The museum also specialises in animal art from the 19th to the 21st century (Rembrandt, Bugatti, Pompon, Jouve), and offers several temporary exhibitions each year.

Combien de musées peuvent se vanter d'avoir un tableau original de Claude Monet ? Vernon le peut avec la particularité que celui-ci fut offert par le peintre lui-même ! Il serait dommage d'aller à Giverny sans faire un arrêt par ce musée très intéressant et complémentaire de l'expérience impressionniste que nous vivons dans cette région.
