CHÂTEAU LANESSAN - HORSE MUSEUM
Chateau offering a visit of the cellars or the horse museum, a winemaker or a visit of the cellars and blending with pure grape varieties
The Lanessan vineyard has belonged to the Bouteiller family since the 18th century. Eight generations have therefore succeeded one another. One woman, Paz Espejo, manages Château Lanessan, succeeding Hubert Bouteiller. Both a wine castle and a museum, Lanessan was built in 1878 and is surrounded by a park planted in the English style, a Dutch greenhouse and a flower garden. The stables were built in the shape of a horseshoe and the blue marble feeders are remarkable. The Horse Museum presents an extraordinary family collection, including the horse-drawn carriages that belonged to the great-great-grandparents, a beautiful saddlery and driving tools. To enjoy this estate there are several visits à la carte: visit the winery or the Horse Museum, visit the winery and the museum, visit the cellars and taste the same wine from 4 vintages, simple tasting of 5 wines and depending on the weather visit the garden. On request, it is also possible to organize the winemaker: visit of the cellars and then you make your own blends from pure grape varieties.
