Crossed by the Risle and partly covered by the forest of Montfort, the commune of Glos-sur-Risle has about 580 inhabitants, a listed building, the seigneurial mansion, as well as several sites listed in the general inventory of cultural heritage, the Saint-Vincent church, the 18th century Sahurs castle (private property), a wheat mill that belonged to the Bishop of Avranches and an 18th century farm. Due to its geographical position, on the banks of the Risle, the municipality has experienced an intense textile industry. Hydraulic power made it possible to operate two wheat mills, a wool spinning mill and two flax spinning mills.
