Freneuse, from the Latin fraxinosa, is the place where ash trees grow. In addition to these large deciduous trees, this charming little village of 360 inhabitants, located along the Risle, houses a beautiful church, an old wash house and a country ford on the GR 224, where the murmur of water is punctuated by a small waterfall. Several hiking trails criss-cross the surrounding countryside and allow you to see here and there half-timbered cottages with iris-planted ridges, as well as the Château de Sainte-Honorine (18th century).
