This small village a few kilometres east of Blaye is worth a look. Its Romanesque church of the 11th and 12th centuries is especially noteworthy for its square bell tower of the 17th century. The bell tower of the Saint-Pierre church is indeed covered with brightly coloured mosaics. They are in fact flat, multicoloured and glazed tiles. It was the idea of Abbot Palles, in the 19th century. The Carsians can thus boast of having a village with undeniable charm and a little curiosity.
