A charming little town on the banks of the Loue. A member of the Val d'Amour community of municipalities, Port-Lesney was for a long time the municipality of Edgar Faure (1908-1988), a minister on several occasions and also mayor between 1947 and 1971, then from 1983 to 1987. A lookout, which can be reached by a footpath, bears his name. Other paths lead to the chapel of Lorette or the ruins of the medieval castle of Vaulgrenant. Another curiosity: the Perrichon basin, an 18th century construction that was used to transfer brine. The brine pipeline that linked Salins-les-Bains to the Royal Saltworks of Arc-et-Senans passed through here.
