On the edge of the Garonne, in the heart of the marshland (80% of the commune's surface area), Braud-et-Saint-Louis is a very dynamic village, between sport, gastronomy and nuclear power! So much diversity... Capital of asparagus production, you can admire its fields as far as the eye can see, walk or bike along the hiking trails, take the famous Green Road or Ausonne Road, which runs through the village and connects Bordeaux to Royan. The port of Les Callonges, which was very busy in the 19th century, lost a little speed for a while and has been an active port since 1990. It welcomes fishermen who, depending on the season, catch gibbons, lampreys, shad, as well as skinny fish and sea bass who love this small sea that mixes fresh and salt water. The village is also home to the Blayais Nuclear Electricity Production Centre. Its 19th-century church holds Saint Sulpician statues. There are plenty of curiosities to discover in this charming village. The inhabitants of Braud-et-Saint-Louis are the Braudiers.
