A large square with a warm and friendly atmosphere, with many stores and the remarkable Saint-Michel basilica.

Commonly known as Place Saint-Michel, this large square is in fact a grouping of three squares: Meynard, Canteloup and Dubourg. The Saint-Michel district is a place where all the inhabitants mix in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Here, the shops offer spices and products that have crossed the Mediterranean, and the shimmering, silky, sequined clothes give the neighbourhood an oriental feel. Near the Saint-Michel basilica and its independent bell tower, do the market on Saturday morning (food and non-food) or the flea market on Sunday morning. Huge works have rehabilitated the square, now displaying its definitive face.

La Place Saint-Michel est située au pied de la Basilique est grande, assez pour accueillir plusieurs fois par semaine un marché aux puces où l'on trouve de tout.

Très jolie place vivante: puces le dimanche matin, restaurants, belle basilique et sa flèche. C'est une place dynamique qui représente bien la ville de Bordeaux. J'aime bien m'y promener.

Au centre de la place St Michel se dressent la basilique et à ses côtés la tour-flèche st
Michel haute de 114m.L'église, la plus vaste des églises de Bordeaux est sur la route de St Jean de Compostelle.
Une excellente boulangerie sur la place, tenue par un maître artisan voit une grande affluence pour ses divers pains de grande qualité.
