Bordeaux's imposing Saint-André Cathedral stands proudly on Place Pey Berland. This 11th-century Gothic cathedral is one of the city's most sumptuous monuments. It has a rich history, from its construction and subsequent fire in the 18th century, to its restoration a century later. Now a Unesco World Heritage Site, it is one of the major stops on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, along with two other Bordeaux landmarks: the Basilica of Saint-Michel and the Basilica of Saint-Seurin.

Un bien bel édifice en bon état. L'orgue est magnifique. Les vitraux sont à découvrir. Bref une visite de plénitude !

Bel édifice à voir.
Attention toutefois elle est fermée le matin jusqu'à 14 h le lundi.
Belle place autour de l édifice et tout près de la mairie.

La Cathédrale Saint-André est en cours de restauration, notamment pour nettoyer l'intérieur des murs de pierre. On voit la nette différence au niveau de l'orgue, avec des murs blancs et plutôt gris/noirs à proximité. L'orgue est à voir par ailleurs, il est magnifique et fait l'objet d'une campagne de financement participatif pour sa restauration.
