In the heart of the Citadel of Blaye, this museum retraces 7,000 years of history to be discovered all year round on a self-guided or guided tour.
Civil and military prison when it was built in 1677, it became a bakery at the beginning of the 19th century. It is here that you will find the Museum of Archaeology and History. Through the dungeons and the bakeries, discover more than seven thousand years of history illustrated by the archaeological furniture discovered in the enclosure of the Vauban citadel and in the old Saint-Romain abbey. The model of the medieval castle and the different plans of the fortress' evolution complete the visit.
