The small town of Berson is located 6 km east of Blaye. It was the scene of a battle during the Second World War in 1944, which opposed girona resistance to enemies. The Battle of the Cau lasted more than 2 hours and killed forty. The purpose of the operation was to arrest an enemy convoy. A commemorative stattle was installed at the place "Le Cau". The municipality enjoys a rich heritage. Among the most notable elements: the church Saint-Saturnin, the Boisset House, the Puynard Castle… There are also several vineyards: the fields of Bourdieu, Mons, Pinet, Rebouquet. Berson's other curiosity: wind mills in the eighteenth century were numbered 15 at the time. The many springs and rivers that cross the village have allowed the development of windmills, but also fountains, to discover during beautiful walks.
