Belvès-de-Castillon is a small village of about 300 inhabitants, surrounded by Gardegan-et-Tourtirac to the north, Saint-Michel-de-Montaigne (Dordogne) to the east, Castillon-la-Bataille to the south, Saint-Magne-de-Castillon to the southwest, Sainte-Colombe to the west and Saint-Genès-de-Castillon to the northwest. On his land: the castle of Castegens, dating from the fourteenth century and several times remodeled. It is now home to a wine estate (that's the region!); but also the pretty Notre-Dame church, which dates from the 19th century. Of Romanesque inspiration, which is rather rare for the time, it is nevertheless topped by a spire! A Merovingian capital is on display.
