The vineyard extends over 16 hectares around the château and 4 hectares on "the heights of Barsac": Clos Mercier. 40 kilometers from Bordeaux, Stéphane Wagrez and Olivier Fargues are attempting to create the wine of the ^21st century, with the Cuvée Coccinelle. Passion, innovation and respect are the watchwords of this vineyard, which is helping to bring Sauternes back into fashion. The Château la Bouade cuvée is more syrupy. Enjoy it with foie gras, of course, but try it with tapas, cheese or sorbets for a little originality!

Surrounded by prestigious crus classés, Château de Gravas is an irreducible. Since 1850, six generations of Claverie and Bernard have succeeded one another on the estate. Florence Bernard will be delighted to welcome you and show you around, right up to the Gravas Trilogy, with art and style. Speaking of art, it's everywhere: on the bottle labels, each with its own story, and in the barrel cellar, where the barrels stand side by side with the colorful works of Alsatian painter and sculptor Paul Flickinger.

The history of the Pontac family is more than 400 years old, it is almost the same as the history of Bordeaux wines! When Jacques and Xavier de Pontac took over the estate in 1988 in order to exploit the original 22 ha, - Sauternes - Barsac appellation -, they first had to replant the 150 000 vines. The rebirth of a great growth was hailed by connoisseurs in 2001, by the Vin de France magazine which spoke of it as "one of the best wines of Bordeaux". Myrat is, to this day, known and recognized among the greatest. The epic is well worth a visit!

Vignobles du Hayot, located in Barsac, is a renowned winery in the region. Founded in 1851, the du Hayot family perpetuates the ancestral savoir-faire of Sauternes wine. Their website offers delivery services for those wishing to taste their wines at home. Visitors can, however, take advantage of the tasting room to discover the different wines on offer. Vignobles du Hayot showcase their exceptional terroir and the evolution of the wine's character over the years.

Located on the high plateau of Barsac, Château Piada - Lalande et Fils is one of the oldest and finest vineyards in Sauternes. Since 1989, Jean-Frédéric Lalande has been perpetuating the family tradition of high quality through his excellent wine products. The estate offers tours and wine tastings, where visitors can discover the history and authenticity of the estate. Château Piada is renowned for the excellence of its sweet vintages, while Château Le Clos du Roy offers fresh, delicious wines. The estate also boasts an art gallery featuring paintings and sculptures from Bordeaux. Wines produced by Château Piada - Lalande et Fils are available for direct sale on site.

Château Liot, located in Barsac. With its rich history and heritage, it offers visitors a unique experience. The estate offers guided tours to discover the terroir and vineyards, as well as the different stages of winemaking. Château Liot is also committed to sustainable viticulture and has been awarded the HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) certificate.

Château de Rolland is a winery located in Barsac, about 38 km southeast of Bordeaux. It is one of the oldest terroirs in the region, dating back to the 15th century. The estate produces sweet white Barsac-Sauternes wines, with the appellations d'origine contrôlée Barsac and Sauternes. The 20 hectares of vines have been farmed by the Guignard family since 1971. The Barsac landscape is marked by a plateau sloping towards the Garonne, with low dry-stone walls surrounding the vineyard plots. Château de Rolland's terroir is fertile and sandy, with gravelly soil resting on a subsoil of fissured rock.

Château Coutet, located in the town of Barsac, is a wine estate steeped in history. Originally a fortress in the 13th century, the château still retains traces of its medieval construction, notably with its crenellated square tower. Over the centuries, the estate has evolved to become one of the first vineyards in the Sauternes appellation. In 1787, Thomas Jefferson, third President of the United States, even described Château Coutet as "the best Sauternes in Barsac". In the 19th century, the estate passed into the hands of the Lur-Saluces family, who also owned the famous Châteaux d'Yquem and de Fargues. In 1855, at the time of the classification ordered by Napoleon III, Château Coutet was officially recognized as one of the Premiers Grands Crus of Sauternes and Barsac. Since 1977, the Baly family has owned the estate and undertaken a renewal of the vineyard and farm buildings. In 2010, Château Coutet launched its first vintage of Opalie, a great dry white wine. In 2017, Château Coutet 2014 was ranked third in the Top 100 wines worldwide published by Wine Spectator magazine.

"Once upon a time, there was a wheelwright by the name of Jean Lacoste who, in 1779, bought a few sunny acres along the Chemin Royal which ran from the Port of Barsac to Captieux: the bourdieu de La Clotte "... Marie-Pierre Lacoste-Duchesne will tell you the rest of the story in person. Representing the ^17th generation, this oenologist and agricultural engineer, who was crowned "Best hope for wine 2003", cultivates her vines organically with her draught horse. The museum is astonishing.

Push the door of the MVB, in other words: the House of the Wines of Barsac and Sauternes. Entirely renovated, the establishment proposes, in addition to its specialized cellar, a wine bar and a tasting counter of aperitif boards and tapas based on local products. Thus, you will find here, and on line, a large choice of wine bottles, but also sweet wines. Wine lovers can ask for advice. Theme evenings are not rare.
