Cité comtoise de Caractère BFC. This half-rural, half-industrial town lies at the confluence of two rivers, the Scey and the Ognon. An essential stop-off, if only to discover the Château de Grammont. Since the 10th century, Villersexel's territory has been organized around the castle and mill. The town was the scene of a French victory over the Prussians in January 1871. The Place de la Fontaine, the old wash-house, the church and a number of old buildings are typical of the area, and there are many reminders of the past, such as the remains of fortifications. Don't miss the apothecary and its superb collection of porcelain in the private hospital.
