Avensan is a small town of about 3 000 inhabitants. As far as its architectural heritage is concerned, you will be able to discover the Saint Pierre church, from the Romanesque period, classified as a historical monument in 1915, the Saint Raphaël chapel, the Villeranque cross, situated on the route to Santiago de Compostela, a wash house but also some beautiful castles (which have been exploiting the vine and producing good wines for centuries - the 13th for one of them)! But it is also for its forest that the city is famous: it extends over 650 hectares and is mainly composed of pine trees. Have a good walk and enjoy your discoveries!
