Welcome to the cherry capital! Located on the border between Haute-Saône and Lorraine, Fougerolles is a commune of 3,700 inhabitants and over 40,000 cherry trees! It's famous for its kirsch, AOC since 2010. At the beginning of the 20th century, there were almost forty distilleries in the area. Today, there are just four - few in number, but as dynamic as ever! The former Simon distillery, listed as a Monument Historique, has been transformed into the Pays de la Cerise Ecomuseum. Visitors are immersed in the history of cherry distillation and cultivation. The market takes place every Friday morning.
