Planted on a rock, this elegant pleasure castle, classified as a historic monument in 1928, replaced the old medieval fortress. Composed of a main building with a round tower and a sculpted façade, it is surrounded by walls and bordered by a deep moat. It houses furniture, tapestries from the 16th and 17th centuries and paintings that testify to the sumptuous lifestyle of John II of Losse. The castle offers a beautiful terrace overlooking the river, behind its balustrade. The park has been awarded the "Jardin Remarquable" label. Picnic tables and tea room.

Information on LOSSE CASTLE

Closed from 1 October to 30 April. Open: May June September 12h-18h and July August 11h-18h, for groups on reservation. Open from Sunday to Friday from 11am to 6pm. Closed on Saturdays, except on weekends and during events. Free up to 4 years old (and for disabled people). Adult: 9.50 € (18 years and over). Child (from 5 to 11 years old): 6 €. Group (20 people): 8 €. For 12-17 years old and for students: 8,00 €. Holiday vouchers. Guided tour. Tearoom. Shop. Animations. Rental of a 17th century cottage on the edge of the estate with direct access to the Vézère.

Château et Jardins de Losse - Renaissance in Périgord

Overlooking the Vézère River, the Château de Losse is a splendid residence built in the 16th century on the basis of a medieval fortress.

The castle offers you a visit of the large dwelling (MH) furnished with period furniture and its gardens entirely reconstituted in the Renaissance style (Remarkable Garden), but also of the defense towers, the moats, the underground passages, the park and many other unusual or grandiose places.

Seasonal animations, tour for all ages, treasure hunt for children.

visite guidée de qualité du château durant laquelle est expliquée la "vie" de celui-ci et de ses propriétaires au fil du temps...Promenade dans le parc et découverte des magnifiques jardins offrent un très beau panorama sur la campagne alentours

Visite guidée très intéressante dans ce petit château dont la terrasse surplombe les rives de la Vézère. Château médiéval remanié par Jean II de losse. Mobilier intéressant.
