Built in 1672 in the heart of a 250-hectare natural park of primary forest, the Val de Consolation monastery was a minor seminary from 1833 to 1905, and again from 1920 to 1978. The park, which is currently protected, abounds in protected flora and fauna, streams, waterfalls and signposted footpaths. The surrounding area is ideal for hiking.
