Olmi-Cappella used to be a strategic point of the San-Colombano pass. It was fortified in the 10th century. The ruins of a medieval tower can still be seen at the pass. The area has been inhabited since prehistoric times, as evidenced by the many remains that have been found. The road that goes down into the Giussani is dominated by the majestic and massive silhouette of Monte Padro, which rises to 2,393 m. A paradise for hikers, the area offers ten walks from 1h30 to 4 hours, marked out in orange to appreciate the forest, rivers, Genoese bridges and the rich fauna and flora. The tourist office will provide you with information sheets and guides concerning these walks.
