This beautiful village is dominated by the ruins of a Genoese citadel built in the 16th century and guarded by a beautiful tower listed as a Monument Historique. In the past, people lived in groups in the small village built on a rocky spur, like a stronghold around the Château de Furiani. All that remains of this fortress is a tower restored by Pasquale Paoli. The commune owns the northern part of the Etang de Biguglia, as well as the Etang du Chiurlinu. Beyond lies the Marana lagoon, a favorite place for strolling and bathing for the people of Bastia. From the heights of the village of Furiani, there are several signposted hiking trails.
