Travel Guide Avapessa

The village of Avapessa lies on a hillside overlooking the Regino plain, at an altitude of 250 meters. The olive-growing tradition of this village is still very present with its olive trees dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. Since the 1970's, the village has been modernized and oriented towards a controlled and environmentally friendly tourism development. The restoration of the parish church of Sainte-Marie, that of the chapel of Saint-Michel and the renovation of numerous paved streets have embellished the rural setting. This village is an example of a Corsican commune that has managed to reconcile modernization, tourism and respect for the environment
