At an altitude of 438 m, this village is classified as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France", and its pink granite houses overlook the sea. In the heart of the village stands the parish church dedicated to the Assumption, in late Baroque style. It houses the statue of the Virgin of the Assumption, a Genoese work of the 18th century, classified as a historical monument. But Piana is especially famous for its calanche, real natural sculptures of torn rocks with strange shapes, whose glowing color plays with the sun rays. This majestic site is classified of world interest by Unesco. In the distance, the peninsulas of Senino and Scandola can be seen.
