A very charming village with its pretty white facades and two churches facing each other in a grandiose setting overlooking the sea. The ruins of San Giovanni church are nearby. Mérimée, in charge of cataloguing Corsica's monuments, had noticed the sculpture of an arm, with fingers open, on the north wall of the church's nave. This is believed to be the remains of the court of justice that once sat in the church. The village's history was marked by the arrival of a Greek colony in the 17th century. As a result of these influences, the village retains two religious testimonies: a Latin-rite church and a Byzantine-rite church.
