Ravaged by the Great War, the village is home to several memorials and a necropolis. Of its church Saint-Martin, burnt down on September 2, 1914, only the western portal remains. The building was completely rebuilt after the war. It is the same for its castle, destroyed in 14-18; only its stone portal is still visible on the edge of the 977 departmental road. Every four years, Sommepy-Tahure hosts the sheep festival, an event that honours sheep breeding, gastronomy and the agricultural heritage of the region.
