On December 10th, 11th and 12th, the city of Epernay, Capital of Champagne, will be illuminated for a new and long-awaited edition of the Habits de Lumière. Video-mappings, animations and illuminations on the Avenue de Champagne, champagne bars, gourmet workshops... and many other festive events will be on the programme for the weekend. And don't forget the new feature for 2021: the Champagne Wine and Regional Archaeology Museum to (re)discover the Champagne heritage.
Discover the three highlights of the most sparkling of events!

#1 The Avenue de Champagne in celebration
A true epicentre of the city, the Avenue de Champagne will shine with a thousand lights during the two festive evenings, on Friday and Saturday night. While video-mappings will dress up the pretty facades of the avenue, including those of the Town Hall or the Champagne Wine and Regional Archaeology Museum, the most prestigious Champagne houses will open their doors and offer champagne bars. At the same time, animations will illuminate here and there this mythical avenue. Wonderment guaranteed!

#2 Ode to gastronomy
For gourmets and food lovers of all ages, Saturday will be dedicated to gastronomy!
During the "Habits de Saveurs", star chefs from the region will concoct recipes to accompany the various vintages of champagne that will be honoured and will offer them for free tasting. Culinary animations on different themes, such as food and champagne pairings, will also be offered free of charge. Something to delight the epicurean visitors!

#3 The mythical car parade
Vintage cars and beautiful cylinders... more than 400 vintage vehicles will be on display on the Charles de Gaulle esplanade before parading under the eyes of enthusiasts and collectors in the streets of Epernay, via the Avenue de Champagne. An appointment not to be missed, it is one of the largest car gatherings in the East!

New in 2021! The Champagne Wine and Regional Archaeology Museum in Epernay
Located in the Château Perrier, a remarkable building, symbol of the expansion of champagne throughout the world, this museum opened its doors on 19 May 2021. Visitors can discover a fun and attractive museographic tour, based on 4 areas, with chalk as the main theme: from the Champagne landscape to the production of Champagne, via the paleontological riches of the subsoil, the museum offers a unique historical and cultural journey to the heart of the Champagne heritage!

In partnership with the Comité de l'Avenue de Champagne, the City of Epernay organizes every year the festive weekend Habits de Lumière highlighting the Avenue de Champagne and its heritage. After an exceptional cancellation in 2020 due to the health situation, this traditional December event returns to Epernay, more sparkling than ever!
