In the heart of the Marne valley, between river and verdant forest, Dormans is a town steeped in history. A land of conflicts and battles, its castle, fortified in the Middle Ages, has preserved the imprint of the illustrious French families who were its successive owners: the Counts of Champagne, the Princes of Condé, the de Broglie family... More than 80% of the town was destroyed during the fighting of the Second Battle of the Marne, and it was twice awarded the Croix de Guerre, for 1914-1918 and 1939-1945. Castle, churches and memorial testify to the town's past, and invite you to relive the history of Dormans during a visit.
