Crossed by the road to Santiago de Compostela, Saint-Germain-du-Salembre has always been on the trade routes, since the Roman Antiquity. Gallo-Roman vestiges have been discovered there. Indeed, although it is a small rural village, its central location between the largest cities such as Saint-Astier or Périgueux allows to combine the pleasure of relaxation in the nature and access to all the shops. Now privately owned, the castle has undergone several alterations over the course of history, which makes it particularly interesting: medieval keep, Renaissance towers, it has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1991.
