With its multitude of roofs made of blonde stone, a local material called lauze, the village of Saint-Geniès offers visitors a unique ensemble, as if time had stood still. We are in the heart of the territory of the extraction of these heavy limestone slabs which are used as roof tiles. Cosy houses dating from the Middle Ages, a Romanesque church leaning against a castle, vestiges of the first castle and the chapel of Cheylard, which conceals frescoes from the XIVth century, such is a brief overview of all that can be admired in this very beautiful village where a market is held on Sunday morning and in summer on Wednesday evening from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m
