Arriving at the bottom of Belvès, a fortified medieval town dating from the 11th century and classified as one of the "most beautiful villages in France" and a green vacation resort, one discovers the outlines of the roofs at the top of the rocky spur that dominates the Nauze valley. The village has seven "bell towers" and its basement is dug with underground passages. The Tourist Office offers guided tours of the troglodytic dwellings. The tower of the Auditor of the 12th century, the market hall of the 15th century, the house of the Consuls, the church of the 14th century, the belfry of the 15th century, the keep and the ramparts... so many reasons to walk in the peaceful alleys
