In this village, the town hall is housed in a 1900s-style baroque villa known as Beauséjour. In 1902, its construction caused quite a stir in Payzac. This superb mansion, designed by a businessman by the name of Lassagne, had mobilized local craftsmen for two years and aroused curiosity, as many of the furnishings, such as the marble fireplaces and carved woodwork, came directly from Paris by train! This man of taste had planted a park, featuring in particular three magnolia grandifloras, which over the decades took on magnificent allure, alongside camellias in ever-generous bloom.
