Perched on a plateau overlooking the Vézère valley on one side and the Dordogne valley on the other, the village of Meyrals is best known for its Scarecrow Festival which takes place every year in July, populating the place with funny colored characters, and for its artists' workshops. The Romanesque church of the village was attacked by Protestant troops in the 16th century, its porch was rebuilt in the following century. The walk in the village, marked out with explanatory panels, is a real pleasure as the streets and the buildings have kept their authenticity.
