Crossed by the river which reaches a width of 420 metres at Cisse, Chouzy has, in the past, been flooded many times to such an extent that the construction of dykes, then called 'turcies', began in 819. But Chouzy-sur-Cisse is also known for its grain mills and bridges, many of which are still missing. At present, you can take a leisurely stroll along the banks of the Cisse, which meanders nonchalantly through the village, stop off at the church of Saint-Martin, originally established in the 11th century, and also visit the remains of the abbey of Guiche, founded in 1273 by Jean de Châtillon, whose cloister dates from the 13th century.
