At the crossroads of the Loir Valley and the Perche, 10 kilometres from Vendôme, Mazangé, a small commune of less than 1000 inhabitants, was once a medieval stronghold thanks to the Manoir de Bonaventure, south of the village. Saved from ruin and destruction in the 1970's, it is now a private residence which you pass at the corner of the D5 and D24 roads. As you drive through Mazangé, stop off at the 11th century church of Saint-Lubin which stands in the heart of the village.
