This small town owes its name to a hermit, Saint Victor, who once lived in the hamlet. The legend says that the latter was accompanied by a white biche, which is found on the stained glass windows of the church, and was consecrated by Bishop Le Mans in 525. Later, the name Saint-Victor accompanied the word «Pavement» to recall that the village was once crossed through the Via Domitia. Now classified as UNESCO World Heritage, La Causeway-Saint-Victor has a wealth of heritage, including its th century church and its walking tour telling the past of the village.
