Crossed by the Berry Canal, the Cher and the Inventaire, Gièvres is a place of archaeology, because the city appears on the Table of Peutinger, a schematic and partial representation of the world as it was in the fourth century. The result of excavations on the Gallo-Roman site of the 02 th century, located in the commune, in the library of Gièvres (mairie at 54 98 60 61) visible on Wednesday afternoon. Another feature is the presence of 1917 to 1919 of an American supply camp, with some buildings remaining on the air base and the liquor warehouse.
