One thing is certain, the Cheverny marathon is intended to leave a lasting impression, but above all to give its participants a change of scenery. Organized around the Cheverny castle, dedicated to the event for a weekend, the marathon is gaining momentum over the years, in a festive and friendly atmosphere. The pasta party of the day before takes place in one of the most beautiful rooms of the castle!

maximum number of participants: over the years, the Cheverny Marathon, which celebrates its 14th edition in 2015, has earned its letters of nobility and welcomes between 1,000 and 2,000 participants each year. However, the maximum number of participants has not been reached. "There are bibs left every year," says a member of the organisation team.

The course

interest: as in previous editions, discover the prestigious Cheverny estate and its surroundings in the heart of the Loire Valley castles. After a departure in front of the Cheverny castle, you will cross the commune of Cour-Cheverny, then the remarkable site of the castle of Troussay. On the course, a gastronomic supply of goat's cheeses and Cheverny wines will be available to the runners as a reminder that conviviality and the discovery of the terroirs are part of the race. In the last straight line, you'll have the Château de Cheverny in your sights..

difficulty: at first glance, the Cheverny marathon does not involve any particular difficulty. It consists of three loops and offers an alternation between forest and countryside, rather pleasant for the runners' minds

elevation gain: the course is flat and rolling, a characteristic peculiar to the Sologne with, to be noted, a small positive elevation gain of 50 metres which does not in any way detract from the possibility of testing oneself and performing well on this course.

temperature: it can still be very cool in Cheverny at the beginning of April where temperatures range between 6°C and 15°C.

refreshment: refreshment and sponge areas are available to runners every 5 km. It is also possible to have a personalized supply. Simply drop it off at the "Info Point - Personal Refreshment" stand in the marathon village one hour before the start and be sure to have a label with the number of the race number and the number of the km refreshment station.

services at the finish: a team of doctors and physiotherapists, who are also present throughout the course, will welcome the riders at the finish
