Beautifully developed in recent years, it is certainly the most beautiful village in the canton of Lorris. In 1918, it was decided that Vieilles-Maisons would henceforth be called "sur-Joudry" (after a stream that rises in the village) to differentiate it from Viels-Maisons, in the Aisne. The town is split in two: the part called Grignon, bathed by the Orleans canal, has nothing to envy the heart of the village. There was even a time when Grignon was an important port, overflowing with activity. At the other end of the village, the church is located a little away from the heart of the village, in a green and landscaped area.
