Located 20 kilometres from Bergerac and with a population of nearly 500 inhabitants, Lanquais is best known for its superb castle, often described as the "unfinished Louvre of the Périgord", as it was built in part by the builders of the famous Parisian palace. Between the fortified castle and the adjoining Renaissance palace, this is a marvel not to be missed in the heart of a wooded and green landscape. In Lanquais, you should not miss the visit of the small Romanesque church of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption, built in the 12th century. A short 40-minute walk on foot allows you to discover the village and its curiosities. The walk starts at the presbytery
