This carnival, which is more than centenary, is part of the institutions. Every year, in February, Jargeau lives for days at the rhythm of many colourful and colourful festivities. The program on the city's website will show you that these festivities always focus on a theme. The "maskers gergoliens", who always sleep only one eye, wake up several times in the year. In the period preceding the winter carnival, they travel through the streets to announce the imminent arrival of His Majesty Carnival, but also in the middle of the summer, in June, for the parade at night, another strong time of the life of this small town on the banks of the Loire. Sommeil in 2016, the carnival resumed in 2017 for the delight of festival goers.

Not the shadow of a feline for this feast dating back to the th century and the brotherhood of the Taste-Massive knights. Make no mistake, it is a more ancient gastronomic tradition than that of the gergolienne massive: At the end of October, Jargeau - capital of the Massive - chestnut festival, abbreviated in "châts", and put in roasted chestnut and goose, in other words a new wine, still sparkling.

Organised by the Brotherhood of the Taste-Massive Knights, the Massive Fair is a real rendezvous for the gourmands. In addition to tasting the famous local speciality, we can meet the members of this centuries-old fraternity, but re-established in 1971. This gastronomic fair, which is among the institutions of the region, is accompanied by an international competition of the best massive, taking place within the brotherhood.
