Châtillon-Coligny is a town with a certain history, that of the Knights Templar, illustrated by the Hôtel-Dieu museum. Then there were the Protestants, who met at the Maison de l'Enfer (Hell House), while the Catholics met at the Maison du Paradis (Paradise House). Its most famous family is the Colignys, whose assassination of Gaspard II marked the beginning of the St. Bartholomew's Day massacre. To enter this town is to plunge into that era. Colette also left her mark on the town, marrying here in 1893. Other must-see buildings include the Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul church and the Château de Châtillon-Coligny.
