If Cerdon is crossed by the Surget, a small tributary of the Beuvron, itself a tributary of the Loire, and part of the Etang du Puits, an artificial pond completed in 1864 (and incidentally the largest in Sologne) is part of this village of 950 inhabitants, the extraordinary is in the church of Sainte-Marguerite (a historical monument since 1931) which has a 16th century oil painting attributed to the painter Raphael - classified in 1970 - representing the mystical marriage of Saint Catherine. Note that the town is in the area of the protected designation of origin of the famous Chavignol. A visit to Cerdon is inevitable.
