Briare is all about its impressive canal bridge, with its remarkable architecture. It allows boats using the Canal Latéral de la Loire to cross the river without fear of flooding or low water, before joining the Seine via the Canal de Briare. These waterways were the inspiration for the creation of the town's marina, which welcomes ships for stopovers or residence. The town is world-renowned for its enamels. The magnificent château de Trousse-Barrière, built of red brick and cut stone, is now an exhibition center. The Roman-Byzantine church of Saint-Étienne, adorned with enamels, remains a curiosity.
