Linked to Beaulieu by its suspension bridge carrying the D 926, this medieval village, present since the 8th century, knew, by its situation in overhang of the Loire, some warlike episodes. Charles VII besieged it, the wars of religion put it to fire and blood, then it was the scene of an insurrection during the coup d'état of the future Napoleon III. Now filled with sweetness, the city with the label Ville Fleurie / 3 flowers is crossed by the Loire à Vélo which leads you to Sancerre and Pouilly upstream and to Châtillon-sur-Loire and Briare, downstream. The last Sunday of July, it is the festival of the wines of the Coteaux-du-Giennois and the antiques fair.
