Bellegarde Castle (14th-18th centuries) is a particularly elegant structure, with a keep that would be the stuff of fairy tales. Its pink hue is reminiscent of the eponymous flower. Nearly 3 million roses are grown and produced here every year, and during the Easter vacations, the Foire aux Rosiers invades the town with its many fragrances and colorful beauties, while showcasing the château's fine specimens. France's third-largest rose-growing region, this activity has developed here for over a century. Gastronomy, wine and roses in mid-November all come together in a series of popular festivals.
