This wealthy medieval city built around a Benedictine abbey was an episcopal see in the 15th century. Work has uncovered remains from the Gallo-Roman and Merovingian periods. Its alleys, with high half-timbered houses and wooden galleries, are part of a circular enclosure. In this labyrinth, you can stop in front of the Gothic church with its octagonal bell tower and the bishops' palace (which houses the tourist office), with its high corner pavilions with turrets. In the village, the house "des têtes" has grotesque sculptures and a wooden panel with crosses. The town has an active craft industry
