In the north of the Loire-Anjou-Touraine Natural Park, on the border of Maine-et-Loire, is located Gizeux, a small town of nearly 400 souls. It has a preserved nature that you can discover with a hiking trail of 4 km. Gizeux, it is a beautiful small wash-house, a chapel, a church but also and especially a castle! With a facade of 250 meters long, it is the longest castle of the Touraine angevine. Among its residents and owners, the du Bellay family, who lived there for more than three centuries. These relatives of the famous poet gave the castle its splendour with decorations by Italian painters
