A pretty village with old houses typical of the Poitevin architecture. The hill on which the village spreads out was entirely surrounded by fortifications in the Middle Ages, which were destroyed in the 16th century. The village has preserved monuments testifying to its past splendour. In the Middle Ages, Faye was an estate surrounded by walls, with a moat and drawbridge, and four watchtowers. The Collegiate Church of Saint-Georges, a fortified Romanesque church, is a work of the 12th century, it is classified as a historic monument, it is a true underground chapel with ambulatory, and this crypt contains features that make it an architectural treasure.
