This old monastic city was built around the abbey founded in 1007 by Foulques Nerra, Count of Anjou. From its past, it has kept many religious and historical buildings: the Saint-Pierre church, the Priory, the Templars' House, but also the leprosarium, the house of Agnès Sorel, the House of the Pilori...
