Castle of the XIth century, dominating Nogent-le-Rotrou and overhanging roads and valleys, sheltering the museum of the history of Perche.
Dominating the town of Nogent-le-Rotrou, the Saint-Jean castle overlooks the roads and valleys of the surroundings. With its origins in the 11th century, the castle has experienced many vicissitudes related to the history of France. Owned by the town since 1950, and classified as a Historic Monument, it houses the Museum of the History of the Perche on the second floor of the Renaissance building. This museum is dedicated to the history of the castle, the city and the Perche, from the Middle Ages to the French Revolution.
