HOTEL MARINERS

World cuisine restaurant

The bar of this hotel is quite chic and pleasant enough for a short lunch break. Freshly prepared food at an affordable price. We opt for a quick snack: sandwiches, salads, omelettes... Or we take our time and have a real meal. The menu often varies, but it is often the classics: Thai chicken curry with rice and naan cheese, duck with prunes, vegetable pie... There is at least one vegetarian choice. And for those who want to enjoy the place, some classic and comfortable rooms are available.

THE ROYAL GOAT

In the heart of Snowdonia, in the small village of Beddgelert, The Royal Goat is a popular restaurant with a traditional menu, concocted using local produce. We can also sleep there, in nice rooms. Some rooms accept the presence of small pets. However, in general, they would deserve a little refreshment both in terms of decoration and soundproofing... Breakfast is excellent! Between April 1st and November 1st, the owners ask to stay a minimum of two nights.

At the Groes Inn you are welcomed in a charming 15th century inn, surrounded by a garden with tables, offers excellent cuisine: salads, sandwiches, seafood and a choice of meat dishes . There's something for everyone, and there's something for everyone's taste. The pub's licence dates back to 1573: it is said to be the very first pub in Wales. Everyone in the region will tell you about it. The establishment also has 15 luxurious and refined rooms. An address that will delight those looking for a complete Welsh immersion!

Excellent wine list, wooden tables, fireplace, menu written on slate... A wine bar that is a rustic, somewhat French-style bistro, very popular in the region and frequented by regulars. There is no doubt that the food is good, with a good welcome and very good service. Gales of Llangollen also offers the possibility to sleep there for those who wish. The double rooms are comfortable, well-equipped and spacious. You feel really good there and will gladly extend your stay! Gales of Llangollen is all right!

THE STONEMILL

The restaurant was able to make the most of the old barn in which it was elected. The large vaulted beams and ceilings dating from the th century have been carefully preserved, giving the place a real personality. The modern furniture and lighting studied bring their contemporary touch to the whole. There is a traditional meat and fish kitchen and a very good wine list. At noon, the restaurant also serves salads and sandwiches in a more brasserie-style spirit.

This beautiful house, overlooking the tranquil waters of the river, is certainly one of the best places in the area to have a drink or a meal. The cuisine is of excellent quality, made with local products. Part of the building has been converted into a cosy pub, where excellent coffee is served in large sofas overlooking the river. The restaurant area has been converted into a duplex. The upper level, which literally overlooks the river, offers an exceptional dining environment.

Excellence is the order of the day. Awarded with two rosettes, Blas Restaurant, which means 'Taste' in Welsh, offers a menu influenced by the season and choice regional produce. Here you will discover dishes designed to reflect Wales and its terroir. You'll love the crab appetizer, before discovering the catch of the day - worked with artichokes, or a 100% vegetable version with roasted celery, mushrooms and kale... For dessert, we let ourselves be tempted by a blueberry soufflé or a chocolate creamy dessert... Divine.

In a beautiful 19th century residence with a breathtaking view of the Tywi estuary, Paul Owen's restaurant is often full. A deserved success for this chef who has proven himself at the Ritz in London, and who is putting the finishing touches on working and reinventing the best of the Welsh countryside. You can also come for breakfast and enjoy delicious Benedictine eggs and maple syrup pancakes... Divine! Divine! Many vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices. Nice wine list. The Mansion House also has a few rooms.

Facing the sea, the pub is located in a row of old cottages, once fishermen's houses. Whether the days are cool or humid, by the fire, you can choose between the great advertising classics or more inventive dishes. Their Sunday Roast, especially the lamb one, is famous in the area. We appreciate the friendliness of the place while enjoying a good meal, here, no need to be stressed, we can take our time. In addition, the place has a very good price-quality ratio and the service is very friendly.

Some people consider Ynyshir Hall to be one of the most idyllic places in Wales and it is easy to understand why. The restaurant is up to the quality of the hotel! Former country house of Queen Victoria, in the heart of the beautiful Cambrian Mountains, this 2-star gourmet restaurant is a gourmet paradise. The tasting menu is simply magnificent: the curtain opens with tastes, textures, explosions in the mouth and remarkable combinations. Be careful, however, no vegetarian option.

This former coaching inn, located just before the entrance to the village, offers traditional Welsh and British cuisine, much appreciated by the locals, in a delightful setting. The menu is varied, but we're melting for salmon and Cajun spices... Nice decoration made of bric-a-brac and broc between thick walls that keep warm! Reservation recommended. They also have a few rooms available: all very beautiful and charming. Some even have a spa bathtub for maximum relaxation. We love the atmosphere.

The setting is absolutely delightful between large glass roof and beautiful garden! You can come to drink tea, taste their homemade pudding, discover the afternoon teas... Everything makes you want to take your time here. If we want to eat, we settle down and choose among the different options: light lunch (with creamy ciabatta with mushrooms, soup, quiche...), a selection of sandwiches (mayo chicken, shrimps, ham and tomato...), wraps... Very good value for money.

Large country style pub and restaurant. Popular with the locals because of the warm atmosphere, the more than good food and the reasonably priced beers. You can eat there every night until about 8:30 pm, afterwards you come for a drink. We come here to get the traditional dishes of the pubs: fish & chips, nice piece of beef with its sauce, fries and peas as an accompaniment. Or a lamb moussaka, curry, burger, lasagna... The products are local, it's simple and good.

ROYAL OAK

It was in this pub that the peace treaty was signed after the failed French invasion in 1797. You can even see the table where the treaty would have been signed! The interior of the Royal Oak is warm and nostalgic, in harmony with the pub's many years of history. In the kitchen, Tracey offers you a variety of fresh preparations, prepared according to the market and without fuss. On the menu are salads and tapas such as nachos, grilled halloumi, garlic bread, onion fritters, etc... Good and original desserts, including berry and gin cheesecake.
